Background: Benito Mussolini was the head of the Italian government in 1922-1943. Mussolini was the founder of fascism. He was the dictator held absolute power. He also  did not treat his people and his country so good. In the amount of time Mussolini was ruling he led Italy into three wars. And the last war led to his overthrow by his country people.

Early life: Benito Mussolini was born on July 29 1883 in Dovia di Predappio, Italy. As a child Mussolini grow up in a poor family and live in a crowded two bedroom apartment. His dad was a blacksmith and followed socialism. Socialism is a system provided for sharing your land and goods equally among all people. His mother taught at a elementary school. Benito was intelligent as a child but was violent. He was a poor at school and learn a lot at school. He was student at a boarding school in Faenza, Italy. Mussolini stabbed another student and was expelled from his boarding school. After he graduated he moved to Switzerland to avoid military service. In Switzerland, Mussolini met with another socialist. Mussolini returned to Italy in 1904, spent time in the military, and got into politics full time after that.

1922: 28 October: The Fascists named Benito Mussolini the Prime Minister of Italy
1925: Benito Mussolini becomes the dictator of Italy
1936: Mussolini and Hitler sign an agreement known as the Roman-Berlin Axis
1939: Italy conqers Albania and Mussolini sides with Hitler and Fascist Germany
